Campus Kavita’ Competition (HINDWI)

Event Name:Campus Kavita – Self-composed Hindi Poetry Writing Competition.
Organised By: Culture Council, University of Delhi in collaboration with Hindwi.
Date: November 8, 2024.
Venue: Conference Centre, North Campus, University of Delhi.
Participation: Approximately 450 students from the University of Delhi.

Highlights of the Event:

Welcome Address:
– Delivered by Prof. Ravinder Kumar, Dean of Culture Council.
– Discussed the importance and process of the competition.
– Highlighted Culture Council’s activities and the large youth participation.

First Session:
– Presided over by Prof. Balram Pani, Dean of Colleges, University of Delhi.
– Emphasized the role of poetry in human life.
– Praised the enthusiasm of youth for poetry and creative arts.

Second Session:
– Presided over by Prof. Shriprakash Singh, Director of South Campus.
– Discussed the cultural and nation-building importance of poetry.
– Highlighted themes like patriotism and folk traditions in poetry.

Special Addresses:
– Shri Anoop Lather, Chairperson of Culture Council, encouraged creativity and confidence in writing.
– Judges of the competition (Prof. Anil Rai, Prof. Savita Singh, Prof. Sheoraj Singh ‘Bechain’, and Ms. Poonam Arora) shared insights into poetry writing and recited their compositions.
